Express Scripts unveils generics discount plan.(Express Scripts Inc.)

WASHINGTON -- An Express Scripts Inc. (ESI) subsidiary has launched a mail-order drug discount program for lower-income adults and children that company officials say can benefit 108 million people.

The program, called Rx Outreach, was developed by ESI's Express Scripts Specialty Distribution Services Inc.

ESI last year joined the National Association of Chain Drug Stores to establish the pharmacy-centric Pharmacy Care Alliance drug discount card for seniors lacking drug coverage.

Rx Outreach covers generic drugs only and is the first prescription drug assistance program to do so, offering more than 50 different medications for such health problems …
