NSW: Man who made TV plea found guilty of wife s murder
By Margaret Scheikowski
SYDNEY, Aug 18 AAP - A restaurant owner who made an emotional public plea for help in
catching his wife's killer was found guilty today of her murder.
Francis Leung showed no emotion when the New South Wales Supreme Court jury delivered its
verdict, but later appeared to be fighting back tears as the case was put over to November 11
for sentence.
The jury had deliberated for nearly four days in a trial which lasted nine weeks.
Leung, 41, of Padstow in Sydney's south, had pleaded not guilty to murdering 39-year-old
Jinlee Leung, whose body was found dumped behind a parked car at a Padstow carpark on February
25, 1997.
After the discovery of her body, a tearful Leung went on national television asking for
anyone with information about the murder to come forward.
