FED: All clear on Y2K front after 10 hours

CANBERRA, Jan 1 AAP - Ten hours into the new millennium Australia's Y2K emergency
centre had no disasters to report.

Senator Ian Campbell, parliamentary secretary to Communications Minister Richard Alston,
said the only reported mishap related to mobile bus ticket validation machines in South
Australia and Tasmania.

"They were quickly fixed and put back in operation within a couple of hours," he told reporters.
